MRI news
I spoke with the neuro-oncologist today. He confirmed what I had been thinking. I looked at the MRI when we first got home from the hopsital, but was hesitant to write anything because I’m certainly not a doctor (I just have plenty of experience looking at Misty’s scans). Turns out there has been no change since the last MRI. The medical take on that is that this chemo regimen is holding the disease at bay. So for the first time, literally since like October, the tumor has fully responded to a chemotherapy.
Unfortunately, the response is not quite as good as we’d hope for (reduction in tumor is the hope). There is a flicker of light, but we are not out of the tunnel. The left hemisphere of Misty’s brain is filled with cancer (when she gets better I’ll show you the pictures). To stay status quo and not get any worse, simply means she may have an extra couple weeks on earth that she may not have had if it were still getting worse. Staying the same (at this stage) will not save Misty’s life.
But, while we are not out of the tunnel….we are certainly not trapped in it. Misty is encouraged by this news (as am I, despite my matter-of-fact depiction of it) and she is continually growing in faith. She is an example to many of us. So yes, we can be excited…and hopeful. Thankful for sure and very hopeful.

We all just have to keep the faith. At least it didn’t grow or spread any more with the chemo she is on. That’s a start. Our prayers, hope, and faith, may take time, but Misty is going to make it through this. As you all are. There are to many people praying and fasting for Misty and she WILL be ok. The prayers and hope and faith is working. Since that seems that that is all we have. You all are so strong and God will make good on the situation. Misty needs you and Olivia, and you and Olivia need her, as we all do. So let’s all just keep praying hard, keeping the faith and let’s make sure God heals her.
Love you all, Aunt Amy~
praise God that there has been a change slightly for the better! I am praying that misty will be totally better very soon!!! hey, when can i visit you guys?! i totally understand that your lives are complete chaos right now but if there is ever a dull moment, call me up! prom was yesterday and i had so much fun and i have to tell you guys about it! :-)
Dear Misty and Darren,
I find it a privilege to pray for you all and for your family each day. I’m also very privileged to pray with your mom on a consistent basis. You both have displayed
such strong faith and courage through this trial. Even through this challenging time, God has used you both to bless and change the lives of so many people you cannot imagine. I am encouraged to know so many others are praying for you too. I want to share with you what
the Lord is impressing on me. He has brought me to scriptures on how to get ready for battle.
In one of Jeremiah’s prophecies (Jer 46:3-4) he is telling the Gentiles to:
1. Set in order the buckler and shield
2. Draw near to battle
3. Harness the horses and get up!
4. Stand forth with your helmets
5. Polish the spears and
6. Put on the armor.
I believe this word is for all of us that are praying & fasting for Misty. God is calling us to action – to be prepared – get ready – then go into battle. If we the body of Christ would put on the whole armor of God and go into battle (prayer) fully armed, then we will see the victories won in Jesus’ name. I am praying that everyone who is praying for you has their full armor on and they are keeping the shield of faith – which will quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
Misty, I pray you’ll be encouraged to know God’s army is fighting for you!
And I love Psalm 91:4
He shall cover thee with his feathers and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid of the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day.
The victory is already won! I’m believing Misty is already healed in Jesus’ name.
Love you
In Christ,

I love you guys. Thank you, God, for finding a chemo that is holding this dis-ease at bay…healing is happening! Kiss the baby for me,
Aunt Cathy
We serve a God who died and resurrected. I know and believe that this situation is far from being as hopeless as death. So, I rejoice that the God who was, is and is to come is moving on behalf of Misty. I expect and believe that one day I will read that Misty has been restored to perfect health. We serve a might and loving God and he does all things well.

i think its just the beginning. of the healing.
Isa. 53 says, He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows…He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed.
The work of the cross which brings us salvation is the same work that brings us healing and peace. These three things cannot be separted, they are born out of one act and we receive them as a whole, not just a part.
Misty, this promise belongs to you.
