Darren LeBlanc

weigh in

I bought a scale.

Misty wasnt able to stand up on the scale in the drs office, so I need one to weigh her at home (to determine if chemo dosage changes). It works ok. I weigh myself, then I carry her and weigh both of us. I clocked olivia at 24.2 lbs. Misty however, was at about 96lbs. The last couple days have been rough. She hasn’t been eating so much…and starts to get anxiety (like panic attack quality) when I try to make her eat when she’s already full. She knows its important to eat…but its hard for her. Ah, the joys of cancerhood.

On the positive front, we are still ramping down on the steriods and haven’t seen and new symptoms or worsening of others…so that is good. Tomorrow morning is chemo. Hopefully, this week will prove better than last week. Tonight, I’m praying that Misty’s blood numbers (platelets and WBC) have come back into the normal range.

PS…I’m having way too much fun, making these Five Years Ago Today images. I haven’t looked at these honeymoon pictures in years!

I’m glad that lowering her steriods are working and not having any affect on her. Wishing all the best this morning for her being able to do her chemo. We prayed hard for her and fasted for her Wed. as we pray with all our heart every day for her. God will prevail and take care of her. Little livia is growing, wow 24.2 lbs. PTL Guys! We have been praying for high blood levels Friday! No more nasty N. shots. I am loving the honeymoon pics. You two look like you’re 12! It reminds me of Timm & I @ the “old” (at least we thought we were old enough) age of 19 & 20 getting married. It will be 14 years for us this summer….. Just wait & see, it’s mind boggling when you have spent more than half of your life with another person. You two are probably close to that huh? We are praying & believing for MANY more years to come for us all.

We are praying for Joel too. I’m glad you posted what you did. On longer term cases like his, it’s so easy to forget that some races are more of a marathon than a 100 yard dash. We will continue to pray for him too. Pastor Wes just shared with me the testimony of a guy from the mission field who was in a coma for over 2 months and no one knew if he would make it but people kept praying and visiting him anyway. After he came out of the coma, he shared how much it meant to him when people would pray with him because even though he was physically & mentally unresponsive, he wanted to pray and couldn’t… You are so right when you encourage people to keep praying for Joel. Just like with Misty, even when we don’t always see or hear results, God uses and hears every prayer. We love you all dearly!!!!! Meg

PS. We have a new baby! Her name is Ella (after Ella G. Clarke, my school). My students found her behind the school at recess running around & were telling me that some of the locals use kittens (did I mention she was a kitten?) to train their pitbulls to kill & fight. Sick right? Soooo….. I brought her home & she’s sitting in my lap as I’m typing this. She’s 8 weeks old with grey and white markings. I was hoping she would keep Max company but right now he’s afraid of her cause she hisses at him everytime he tries to sniff or lick her. I wish Olivia could see her. :)
