  1. I’m an idiot – I posted the little blue banner on the right hand side of the page and accidentally made it link back here rather than to the new Online Community. It’s fixed now. That’s what I get for writing html code at 4am.
  2. One of the comments from yesterday referenced an old Twila Paris song: How Beautiful. Well, this is very funny because Misty and I sang that in her church when we were like 16 and 17.  Thanks Sheree for the unintended flashback.
  3. I made salsa yesterday and I’m loving it. I’ve tried a few times in the past, but never get it just right. I’ll post the recipe soon (as soon as I take a picture)
  4. I bought a seagull acoustic guitar, but sent it back because it came cracked (way to go musiciansfriend .com). In the mean time, I fell in love with a larrivee and found an amazing deal on ebay. Pictures/review to come as soon as it gets here!
  5. My work blackberry has 900 unread messages…I need to go back to work soon. (read: God needs to bring Misty back to walking and talking asap)

Today was much less cool than yesterday. Misty didn’t say much of anything and was discouraged a good bit. After dinner she started complaining of a headache as well and wanted some medicine. She’s sleeping now and there is a frown on her face.  I was kinda down with her at times.

Olivia, on the other hand, is marvelous.  Each night when I say “bath” she starts repeating ”bath”, “bath” and runs up the stairs to the tub. After she’s in, I give her the washcloth and she says “washa face” (wash your face) – she announces each part of my face as she rubs the washcloth over it: “eye, nose, mouth, nose, hair, ear, chin, teeth, nose”. I’m always grateful for the face washing.  Then we sat downstairs with mommy and I rubbed her little back as she drank some milk ( pronounced “mulk”). She finished and got up, put the cup in the sink and came back in saying “put sink, mama seepin, bed” – which means “Daddy, I put the cup in the sink, aren’t you proud of me? Mommy is sleeping, I’m tired too…lets go to bed.” So, afer kissing misty, I took Livi upstairs, said our prayer for mommy and laid her in bed. She’s goes right to sleep usually. She’s such a good kid.

    My best friends husband has brain cancer as well he was given 3-6 months 2 months ago. I have forwarded your website to her. I also have started praying for you and your family as well.

    God is sooo Great! I’ve had you in thought and prayer but for two days I hadn’t had a chance to come to the web page. I did some catching up today… As I was reading and saw that you’ve been asking God for Misty’s speech to return, I was amazed once more at how GOD is soo Good. I awoke this morning and began to pray for alot of things and one of them was for Misty’s recuperation and her speech…Usually I pray for Misty’s healing…But today the spirit led me to request for her speach and her ability to walk…Not knowing this was on your heart the HOLY SPIRIT revealed it to me…I am in AWE of this wonderful GOD that we serve…It’s amazing…HE IS IN CONTROL and he is WORKING! I hope this brings comfort in knowing that GOD hears you and cares for you and yours…I prayed for you too Darren, that you would not be consumed in discouragement…All I can say is WOW! God’s Blessings on you today and a wall of fire covering you, Misty and Olivia from the enemy’s darts. We Will Be Victorious by the Blood of the Lamb..Amen

    Good Morning to you and my lovely Misty and Olivia. I was excited to see how many words Misty is saying too, because I have been praying for God to restore her speech everyday. So that is really exciting to me too. I have been asking God to restore her body to whole and complete healing. I believe God for that. Be encouraged today Misty, we are right here pulling for you, praying for you, and loving you with all our hearts. I know God hears. He loves you Misty and you are right in his arms. Have a beautiful day today.

    Sorry you guys had a down day. It is bound to happen though. I can only imagine how I would be.

    Liv sounds too adorable for words. Wish we weren’t so far away. She would love to play with my crew!

    Wanting to encourage you sweet family in Christ to keep your eyes off the earthly and on the spiritual realm where God has worked a miracle for your family. In His timing, which is perfect, He will manifest this miraculous healing in the earthly realm and His glory will be shown in the return of Misty’s ability to walk and talk and participate fully in your lives. Won’t that be something to shout about! I am excited! Don’t let satan steal your joy with slow progress and pointing out what isn’t. Focus on what is and what is to come … Yippee … Go GOD!

    Thanks for the update! It was great to hear about Olivia. She’s such a wonderful child! I will be praying for Misty’s speech.

    I’m glad to hear that you and Misty had some (together) time at the beach. It’s always nice to hear how Misty is doing and getting better!

    We are continuing to pray and ask God to take away all her pain, cancer, sadness….the family will have peace.

    About discouragement…I listened to a great teaching on cd last night! Have you ever heard of Bill Johnson?

    God promised Abraham a son and later asked Abraham to sacrifice his son on an altar.

    Hannah promised God that if He gave her a son, she would give him back to God. God blessed her with Samuel. She gave him back to God – via a corrupt priesthood.

    Paul was in prison. Jesus came to free the captives. Paul remained in prison.

    All of these examples show that we must trust God and His Word to us. Don’t allow yourself to be offended or discouraged by looking at the circumstances. In all of these examples, God was faithful and mighty to save!

    Praying for all of you! The journey you are on is not easy and you are both doing a great job. Our emotions swing – feelings are fickle! Keep your eyes on Jesus – HE is the WAY! Keep pressing in and pressing on!!

    Misty is victorious!

    Father, let us see the victory soon! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    Hi Darren, Misty and Olivia. I have been following your story on this website for about 2 weeks now – since my mother told me that Misty was sick. Misty probably won’t remember me…I remember her though, when she was just a cute little kid and I was a bratty teenager at Full Gospel Church in Wall, NJ. I used to work in the toddler room/nursery with her grandmother during church services because I loved being with all those little babies ;-) Now, we are both all grown up with babies of our own. I am a new mother to Hayden Andrew – 3 months old – the joy of my life along with my husband Mike.
    I have to say that it has been a while since I have prayed, but your family has been in my daily thoughts and prayers for the last two weeks. I think your spirit is incredible and your courage is inspiring. I can see the miracle that has already been at work in your lives. Thank you for sharing your journey. I will keep praying for Misty’s recovery.
