arrrggghhh
I was writing a post about Olivia when Misty has a seizure.
Then I was writing a post about how I was too tired to write a real post, so I was going to bed. That magically disappeared (and for once I forgot to do my trick of control-A to select all the text, then Control-C to copy it. This way, when this happens, the whole text is on your clipboard).
Anyway, Misty has 15mg of liquid valium in her so she is out. It has been 2 weeks since her last seizure and that was 2 weeks from the previous…so I shouldn’t complain, right? (you don’t need to answer) This one wasn’t really big, but lasted for a solid 20 minutes.
Anyway, the antibiotics aren’t doing anything except making her mouth infection come back, so I’m going to stop them. Her symptoms are: extreme fatigue, cold sweats, anxiety, and mood swings. These are all symptoms of coming down off a dependence to decadron (steroids).
We weren’t up for church today, but Olivia went with Misty’s family.
I’m tired. It’s 2am, I’m going to turn in a little early.

Darren, I am sorry you are tired and that the antibiotics aren’t really helping. Praying for encouragement today. Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow.
Hey Darren,
I know this sounds funny, but praise God for the fatique and the mood swings- they are also side effects of a healing brain. I am believing that God is still working, and what we see as not so good is still a blessing in the works. I’m still praying for continuous strength and hope for you and your family.
I am sorry Darren. I am sure all of this comes with loads of discouragement for Misty and you.
I am praying, so even when you can’t…know that many are.
Hang in there. God is still God and He has made promises to you and Misty and you need only stand in them until they manifest on this earth. He is faithful! Sometimes things look and feel bleakest before the manifestation. Remember, Jesus was dead for 3 days before He was raised into glory. Talk about bleak for the humans around Him living in despair. You are doing GREAT! Get some rest … the Lord gives rest to those He loves. And, He loves your family!
Praying!
It took Giambi an entire baseball season to stop feeling sick as he recovered from steroid dependency. While it must be horrible for all of you to go through, I can see our beautiful Misty steroid free in a few months, continuing on her road to recovery.
Again brother Darren my thoughts are resound by all of our family in Christ who comment earlier then I .. and as I have said in the past always before something good or miraculous is going to take place or happen everything looks as Debra said .. Bleak.. the weasel likes also to poke at us .. make us feel tired .. but God is our strength .. so sit still and rest .. and let God drive for a while .. God bless and better days are coming .. tbone out
Hey Darren,
My thoughts and prayers are still with you, misty, and your family. The decadron withdrawl is tough, as I was on that steroid when I was on chemo. I was so mean to my family, friends, co-workers, etc. because of the mood swings. I felt so bda about it. I had so much “roid rage” if you want to call it that. Just be patient and the symptoms will of withdrawl will be over for Misty soon. Until then, I pray for patience as I know it has to be tough. Your a very strong person though and you can handle it, and so can Misty!
God Bless!
God is for you! My prayers continue to ascend to the Father. I know He is in the midst of you. Continue to trust.
God Bless you!
Prayers for you from NC; I read daily – thanks for sharing your life with all of us…. you’re sure to be surrounded by prayer.
Just wondering if she is eating yogurt to help with the thrush….yeast…to help replace what the antibiotics are killing?
Miracles and blessing are right ahead – goodness and mercy are right behind! The night may be long and dark but it can’t last forever. A joyful morning is near!
Praying, standing, believing…
