  • I could do this bullet thing everyday. It’s so easy…it doesn’t take any creativity on my part. Which is good today, because my brain is ready to sleep. Also, since there is no general theme I want to convey, I feel free to write completely stupid titles.
  • Today a couple angels (Brenda and Erin) dropped off a fabulous dinner. Chicken Enchiladas, Salsa (that was much better than mine) and an unusually delicious Bean/Corn dip.
  • Misty slept a lot, but felt pretty good. She was playing with Olivia a bit at dinner.
  • My cat is obsessed with being pet. She is jumping on Misty right now looking for some love (misty is sleeping, so its not likely she is gonna find what she’s looking for _ that reminds me of a U2 song).
  • I have a new use for my juicer – I made blueberry applesauce for misty this morning. She takes her pills with applesauce and we ran out. That reminds me…I ran out of peanut butter too. I have to make some tomorrow.
  • There is a half way interesting article HERE from MSN on hospitals. I particularly like the note about the anesthesiologist not being on your plan, when the hospital is. We have had this problem. in hindsight, I might ask about that if it wasn’t an emergency procedure.
  • I was thinking today about how much of an honor it is to be able to tell you all Misty’s story. I’m kinda overwhelmed by how many of you read and pray each day. It’s encouraging and humbling. Thanks for the emails, card, comments and prayers.
  • I think everyone should read Psalm 121:

Psalm 121

 1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
       where does my help come from?

 2 My help comes from the LORD,
       the Maker of heaven and earth.

 3 He will not let your foot slip—
       he who watches over you will not slumber;

 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
       will neither slumber nor sleep.

 5 The LORD watches over you—
       the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

 6 the sun will not harm you by day,
       nor the moon by night.

 7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
       he will watch over your life;

 8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
       both now and forevermore.

    You tell us so often how humbled you are and I continue to be amazed by your strengh and attitude. My husband and I have had to make some tough decisions lately just regarding job situations and I will be trying something new. I found myself getting scared and worrying and I remembered Misty. If she can be so strong and attack every situation given to her than so can I. Just a small way that Misty has made a difference in my life. THANKS!

    I am honored that I can read about what’s going on w/ you guys every day and that I can pray for you. I am amazed reading some of the things that you write about, asking for prayer for other things and writing about other situations (not just the hardships you are going thru)that thru all this your faithfulness, prayerfulness, humbleness and loving kindess come thru. (I want to comment lots of times but figure you’ve got too much to do to read all these and usually I read this in the AM when I get to work – which is really a nono.Not to mention, you are very well-written. You should keep all this and write a book to the testimony and Glory of God some day. I didnt realize until recently that you were a Pastor and that comes shining thru. You guys are a wonder and you, Darren, are a strong and loving man.
    God Bless you all and you are continually in my prayers.

    Darren – Thanks for sharing Psalm 121. I’ve been reading that more lately, as well. Just posted on my blog a couple weeks ago about my grandma and Psalm 121. You may also find some encouragement in that – praying for you friend.

    I can’t wait for the day when you and Misty write a book together, or you each write your own book. What a day that will be! It’s good to know that you have your little girl back after her being sick. I like the idea of the bullets, makes it easier on you, but I love when you write in the prose form as well. Since I got personally reminded of it today I wanted to pass it on to you, God is faithful and good in all circumstances.

    Funny, I have been reading Psalm 121 every morning before I leave to teach at school. It has been a great source of encouragement and I am trying to slowly commit it to memory. Psalm 91 is my other one that I have been looking to on a consistent basis.
