Misty
- Misty is feeling ok, her mouth infection has cleared up significantly. Still a bit foggy, but I dare say better than yesterday.
- I found an old digital voice recorder that I had lost. It has recordings from about 30 songs I was working on a few years back. I never would be able to remember them. I was pretty happy.
- We went out and picked up take-out from a local Mexican place today for lunch (junaitos, red bank). We ate in the car overlooking the water in Marine Park (Red Bank NJ). My mom and grandma cleaned the house while we were out.
- The repair guys showed up this morning to fix my fridge. Now I have an ice maker!
- I spoke with an old friend, Matt Linardo, today who happens to be a physical therapist. He gave me a wonderful overview on what I should be doing physical therapy-wise. So we started a 2x daily PT regimen today ( we need to strengthen her left side and keep the right side loose for when it does come back). We had a PT coming to the house, but she disappeared…and didn’t really do much hands-on stuff with misty when she came.
- The logo artist sent me 3 samples of the new Anthem of Hope logo. We liked one, but it needs tweaking.
- Olivia is feeling a bit better…probably coming home tomorrow :)
- Pastor Timm and Megan stopped by…it was nice to see them.
- Misty’s mom is feeling a bit better as well…its been a while since I haven’t seen her for 2 consecutive days.
- Misty hit 700ml on the spirometer (the thing you breathe into to strengthen and strech your lungs). Thats not anything to write home about, but we just started using it. Misty isn’t breathing very deeply and that supports gettng pneumonia (can’t have that again).
- Misty has been coughing lately while drinking. The doctor said that her body doesnt get water down the right tube, so she coughs to keep it out of her lungs. Well, today was pretty good with that. There wasn’t any coughing today….so that was nice. I worry about getting fluid in her lungs.
- Misty is over her addiction to fuji apples with homemade peanut butter (we’ve been doing this every night). I wonder what’s next.
This morning I am praying for encouragement for all of you. Not only for you and Misty, but for parents and family and friends that are close to you. Praying that God blesses in a mighty way and for improvements in Misty’s abilities. And as always a total healing to take place in her body.
May God encourage you in an unusual and unexpected way today.
I am praying today for the hour of Misty’s promised healing to be upon us. That the Lord would bless your faithful longsuffering with physical healing this day in Jesus’ name. I pray for Misty to regain all senses and strength and for you and your family to be able to rest and breathe in deep the very presence of God and it’s life giving aroma.
Praying for you all. Let the Peace of Christ give you rest. All of you rest in the arms of our Saviour.
Praying for you guys. If you need anything… I know you have a lot of people offering… let us know. Praying unceasingly for Misty’s healing.
It’s nice to hear that little Olivia will be coming home. I bet you both miss her! Thanks for all the updates. To read that Misty didn’t caugh for a day is uncouraging. I was also sorry to hear about the nurse not really working with Misty when she came over. I hope that improves regarding that nurse.
It sounds like Misty is over that hump that you both were on. I trust that our Lord will keep you on this new road. No more pneumonia and little Olivia doesn’t have anymore sickness. Bless your hearts!!
Were still praying and thinking about you all!
I wanted to say….it’s encouraging to hear about Misty not caoughing…I think I have had thoughts of what you have been through…things seem to always happen for the worse…this time I wanted to correct that. I truly believe that the Lord is helping Misty and we should not be discouraged. That was the word I was looking for!! ((SMILE)) I just wanted to fix that!!
It’s amazing the ways that God blesses us. I feel that, even though they are in very small ways, God is blessing you, reminding you that He is still there.
Prayer does things we could never expect, that we could never imagine. May your faith continue to overflow into Misty and Olivia’s hearts as well as the rest of your family.
hey darren!
i can completely sympathize with mistys addiction to apples and peanut butter. when i was sick that was practically all i ate! but now i’ve eaten so much of it the very thought sickens me hehe.
Hi Misty and Darren! Thinking and praying for you both constantly. So glad to hear about the physical therapy techniques you learned! P.S. I completely relate to the obsession – I eat apples with peanut butter and apple butter everyday lately :) Its like a PB&J sandwich but BETTER! Love, Erika and Matt
These updates are precious to our family, as we pray every day for Misty! It is a joy to hear your daily faith and perseverence.
Praying for healing.
Darlene and family
Good thing you did away with the addictions before it was too late. I watch Intervention on TV and apples and peanut butter can really wreak havok in your life.
Sounds like a good day all the way around. God is moving. Lots of love and prayers going out to you and your family. Keep looking up. Think I have the same addiction, but I refuse to give it up.
Glad to hear of your nice time at the ocean. Something positive to report is a blessing to hear. We all know the Lord is working miracles in the unseen realm..we sure would like to speed that up in our realm huh?!!! LOL Lord give us patience to run the race!!
I did alot of physical therapy with my mom & dad on swallowing. Make sure to tell Misty to put her head down & touch her chin to her chest every time she swallows… that is a huge help with swallowing properly & not choking. Water is the hardest, believe it or not. It also helps to keep out pneumonia from starting with fluids accidentily getting into the lungs.
Thanking God and praising Him for a better day! Next time I check, I hope to see that you are all together again!!!
