still believing

I know many of you are checking for an update: Misty is holding strong and we are still believing as we have been.

Nothing has really changed since yesterday. Her leg (where the clot is) is a bit warmer and her blood pressure took a dive last night but came right up with fluids. The morning has been peaceful. And Misty still looks so beautiful.

Still praying.

God woke me up several times last night to pray for Misty. I just recently found your site. I am praying for complete healing for Misty.

When our baby son was so sick God gave us a verse to get through the nights.

PSalms 4:8 I will lye down and sleep in peace, for you alone, oh Lord make me dwell in safety. God is able!!!

“He gives new strength. He guides you in the right paths, as he has promised. Even if you go through the deepest darkness, Be not afraid. For the Lord is with you. His Shepard’s rod and staff protect you and Misty.”

“I know that GOD’s goodness and love will be with you and Misty”

If God can raise the dead, how much easier (if that concept applies to God) is for him to raise Misty from the hospital bed.

Debby & I pray every night and check for the answer to prayer every morning.

    Praising! Praying! Believing!

Thank you Father for your peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank you for your Holy Spirit who brings us truth and access to all that you have revealed to your Son, our Savior, Jesus. I join all these believers around the world in asking you to heal Misty’s physical body so that she may continue to glorify you on the earth. Words cannot express my gratitude for all the provisions you have made for your daughter; your Holy presence, a faithful husband, a family with faith passed down for generations and yes Father, even human medicine! I pray that all who have seen the work of your hand will believe! Thank you for using her to save, renew and strengthen your Kingdom! I love you. In Jesus name. Amen

  18. Jerri September 22nd, 2008 11:06 am

Today is the day of the manifested healing of our Lord.

    Rise up, Misty! Rise up!

Darren, rejoice, for the King, God Almighty is His name, has heard your petition. You have found favor, and He has heard your cry. Bring your sacrifice of praise to the throne and see the mighty hand of God work on your behalf. There is none who can stand against the word of the Lord. He has judged rightly, and the blast from His nostrils shall lay low all the rise up against you. Declare His praises for His hand is on you. Be exalted, Lamb of God! Be exalted! For worthy is the Lamb to receive all praise, glory, honor, and power! To you be the praise!

And the angels that surround the throne, we bathe the King in praises, shout, “So let it be!” And all God’s people shout, “So let it be!” Release your hand, Lord, and do your mighty works!

    Amen.

  19. Michele September 22nd, 2008 11:06 am

Reminding you of my friend’s son – laid in a coma for 9 days before God raised him. His parents were told there was nothing left of his brain. They stood, refusing bad reports, actively believing God just like you are doing for Misty. Today, there is no sign of him ever having brain damage. Glory to God! Our faithful, faithful God.

Praying, standing, and believing with you.

    PRAISING GOD FOR MISTY’S MIRACLE!

“Praise lies upon a higher plain than thanksgiving. When I give thanks, my thoughts still circle around myself to some extent. But in praise my soul ascends to self-forgetting adoration, seeing and praising only the majesty and power of God, His grace and redemption.”

Ole Hallesby (1879-1961) was one of Norway’s leading Christian teachers and devotional writers.

A man was going to visit his daughter in the hospital. She was in a coma. He was at the lowest point in his life…the sadness was overwhelming. As he got into the elevator, the Holy Spirit prompted him to sing praises to the Lord. The man loved God, but said, “I just don’t have it in me right now to praise the Lord.” Again the Spirit of God said, “Sing praises to the Lord.” In obedience, he began to praise the Lord…half-heartedly at first, but then his praises became heartfealt. By the time he arrived at his daughter’s room, she was out of the coma. All of us who are reading this update and praying…along with Darren…let’s lift up our voices in praise to our Blessed Lord. ‘..with our song we will praise Him.’ Ps 28:7

Hi. I am actually in Israel right now. And I was at Gideon’s spring hearing about how God stripped away the army to even smaller so that he would be obviously glorified in the miracle that followed. I thought of you guys while I was there. Still Praying.

  49. Colleen September 22nd, 2008 1:58 pm

    Darren,
I’ve been praying all morning for you and Misty. I keep thinking of the scripture Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.” It’s amazing to see from your blog, that people from all over this country are praying. Some that may haven’t prayed for a while and this has got them down on their knees. I wonder how many parents hold their children closer? How many people have forgiven a friend or family member because they relize that life is too short? I wonder how many lives have been changed because of you and Misty. Yes, we are praying and believing for a miracle, but look at all the miracles that has happened because of Misty. How many people’s faith have grown stronger, how many people have renewed their prayer life. What a wonderful testimony Misty and you are to the doctors, the nurses, and care givers. Not to mention the rest of us that read your blog everyday. Please don’t get discourged, and know that God has a plan. We love you guys and continue to beleive and pray for a healing for Misty.

  50. Pam September 22nd, 2008 2:22 pm

Greetings and God’s Peace from Cape Cod!
The gentle winds and constant waves are our reminder that Almighty God is ever present. Misty, you are our source of strength and our inspiration. Darren, I am in awe of your faith and your steadfastness. We are ALL moved by your love story. Friend of Misty’s Mom allowed us the privilege of knowing you through your website. May the blessing of Almighty God shine on your precious family and stay with you forever.

  51. Dana September 22nd, 2008 3:22 pm

Praying for you here in Germany.

  52. Amanda Balina-Ayers September 22nd, 2008 3:26 pm

I wanted to tell you that I have been praying that God is talking to Misty while she is in the coma. That he is teaching her how to be a better mother, a better wife, a better sister, a better daughter, and a better friend. I am praying that God is also touching and repairing EVERY part of her body while she’s in the coma. I’m praying that every strand of hair she’s lost will grow back, that every muscle and bone will become stronger, that every blood cell will be repaired, and that every inch of her brain is becoming CANCER FREE!!! He’s just fixing her through this! Honestly, I believe that that is what’s happening. I read a comment from Aunt Amy a few days ago and for some reason she REALLY made me believe that this is happening! I always read the comments and people aren’t only praying around the country, but their praying for Misty around the WORLD! So I know that God is hearing us! I am also praying that Misty will be able to WALK out of the hospital when she wakes up! It is SO possible, you know? I read another comment from someone saying that God has raised people from the dead, so OF COURSE He can raise Misty up from the hospital bed! The other day (when she slipped into the coma) my mom heard about it from Sammy before I did. She called me while I was in Walmart with Marcus & the kids and told me what happened. BEFORE reading your blog for that day, I just stopped and prayed and asked God that the coma would be her “lowest point” and that it WOULD NOT go past that! Then I read what you wrote and you said something like “today has been the lowest point in Misty’s physical condition.” !!!!!!!!! SO THAT’S IT! I believe that she’s just getting a personal fixing from Jesus and that she WILL WALK out of the hospital soon! Love & Miss you!

Hey brother Darren .. yesterday I was saying to my beloved wife just what Colleen spoke about .. my wife ask me why good God fearing people go through situations like these .. I told her that we can not understand the mind of God .. and that God always has a purpose and that no matter what we go through that God uses that to strengthen others .. as Colleen said look how many people have said that your steadfast faith has increase their’s .. others who said that they have not prayed in a long time have once again opened that line of communication with our Lord and savior again .. those who said that their faith was weak for a long time have found it and that it has made them stronger .. your a winner in all of our books and most in our life’s and most important in the eyes of our God .. sing and praise God and in the midst of those praises God will move in a MIGHTY way .. and the miracal has alraedy happen because God knows the out come .. my love and prayer are with you .. Misty and Olivia .. God bless .. Tbone out

    Thank for the up date

  58. HollyAnn September 22nd, 2008 4:51 pm

Oh how I wish you had heard the testimony of a lady in my home town just last week. She shared how God healed her of a tumor in her heart (have the ultrasound pics to prove it) that caused a stroke and blood clots that doctors said left her a vegetable. She collapsed on May 16. She walked out of the hospital with NO EFFECTS of the strokes or blood clots just two months later! She woke up right after Jesus appeared to her! Amazing testimony! I thought of you and Misty when I heard it and now that I am catching up on your blog, I wish more than anything that you could hear it to encourage you! Standing with you..if you want to talk to this amazing couple, e-mail me and I will get you in contact with them! I think they can relate better than anyone here to what you are facing!

  59. Jerri September 22nd, 2008 4:58 pm

When Debra and I were talking yesterday, the Lord brought something to mind, and I mention it because of Amanda’s comments.

I told Debra I thought Misty was in a coma so Jesus could talk to her, give her strategy, and prepare her for the next part of her life.

A friend of ours had a daughter who had heart problems. At point the daughter was in ICU for several weeks and periodically, she would flatline. She was quite young at the time. Years later, she and her mom talked about it, and the daughter said she remembered those times. Her mom was surprised. She said, “Oh, yeah, I could see the doctors patting my chest.” The mom asked if she was in the room. The daughter was surprised. “No. I could see it from where I sat on Jesus’ lap, Mom. We could see all of it while we talked.” The daughter could give details about the episodes, so the mom knew it was real.

So what happened? One day the daughter was “nearly dead”. Family was told to prepare for her to leave. 48 hours later she was home fine and has never gone back. The faulty valve was checked regularly, but they’ve quit doing that now because nothing ever shows up and insurance sees no point.

I told Debra I felt like Misty is having a “lap” time with Jesus, and when He is done talking, Misty will come out of it fine.

    Cool confirmation, Amanda!
