Darren LeBlanc

the dunkin encounter

It’s about 10:30pm and I’m driving back to my hotel from a meeting (I’m in the boston area for work). Getting a little tired, I decided to stop at Dunkin Donuts for a green tea and a chocolate frosted. It’s not very hard to find a dunkin donuts place…there is basically one on every street corner across this fine donut and coffee lovin country.

So I pull in and spring out of my car, and quickly lock the door. I’m in a new blue Prius Hybrid and I’m not all that comfortable in the car yet….its kinda quirky. So I get my stuff and come back outside. Something was funny….I had left my lights on. Hmm, and I left the engine on.. Now, it took me 10 minutes to get this thing to start, and I almost freaked when I stopped at an intersection and it sounded like it turned off..so I’m not putting anything past this car. I get in the door and pull it shut next to me. The seat feels a little different too. And wait…oh man….my keys are in my pocket still…

Yeah, so I snuggled up on some random guys nice blue car. I quickly jumped out and got in the right one! Funny thing was that it really didn’t look anything like mine. I’m just a bit scatterbrained :)

If it makes you feel any better… I got in a car that wasn’t mine and trie to turn the key for like, 2 minutes before I realized I never had anything hanging from my mirror. :D

Wow, perhaps something a little stronger than Green Tea next time. If it makes you feel any better it sounds like something Christine’s dad would do.

Don’t feel so scatter brainy about it, Darren. I have not only gotten into a strangers car, I have wondered aimlessly in parking lots looking for my car and then realized, duh you have your daughters car, your car Laura is at the repair shop. Endless scatter brainy scenarios here too often. You just have to sit back and laugh!

    HAHAHAH! That’s awesome!

I remember when I was about 10, our family Easter celebration was to be held at my dad’s cousin’s house, so we all piled into the car and headed there.

We walked up the sidewalk and through the back door, and my dad who was always the outgoing one was like “What’s for dinner, Karen!?!”, only to realize with the rest of us in tow that we had walked in on his cousin’s NEIGHBOR’S small Easter dinner. OOPS!

Thankfully they were really good about it and laughed, but really! Who does that! LOL

HA HA HA! I did this a few years ago, here in our town! Got into some else’s car, while my husband walked to our car right next to it and just stood there, looking at me and laughing. Too funny! Memories…
